Health Office

The Hollister Health Office provides a number of services and supports for students, including: 

  • Minor First Aid
  • Doctor Approved Medication Administration
  • Asthma action plans
  • Diabetes management plans
  • Seizure action plans
  • Allergies & anaphylaxis procedures
  • Individualized Health Plans (IHPs)
  • 504 plan coordination (health-related) 

Students visiting the Health Office during classroom or HST hours must have a pass. Students will be sent back to class if they do not present one at the Health Office. Drop-in hours are available during break and lunch. 

Student Illness and Attendance

Students should stay home from school if they have any of the following symptoms: 

  • Fever
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting

Students must be fever-free and symptom-free for 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to school. 

Absence Reporting

If a student is absent due to illness, medical appointments, or mental health, a doctor's note is required to excuse the absence

Unverified absences may be marked as unexcused. Three or more unexcused absences are considered truant per California state law. 

Immunizations

To update a student's immunization record, email the school nurse 

To provide immunization records for a new student, email the Registrar 

Student immunization records can also be brought to Hollister High School. 

Medication

Parents and guardians must submit a Medication Authorization Form to allow their student to take medication while at school.

If the Health Office is closed, please go to Student Services in the Main Administration building.
